Thomas Gunillasson

March 24, 2005: Recording first democlips at Music-A-Matic studio, Gothenburg, Sweden

All tracks were played by Thomas Gunillasson...

..and recorded by Henryk Lipp at Music-A-Matic Studio in Gothenburg, Sweden. Both Thomas and Henryk volunteered their time and talent to this project for which I am immensely greatful. If You want to record/produce your music in a great studio equipped with a fantastic array of hard to find original vintage tube recording equipment and microphones as well as staffed by friendly, experienced engineers and producers then Music-A-Matic is THE Place.

We used a classic vintage dynamic mike which most truthfully captured the sound of the amp and speakercab. All tracks were recorded through original Neve 1066 micpreamp directly to HD. No equalization or dynamic processing was applied other than that of the amp itself. The cab is 25% open back 212 fitted with 2 Eminence RedCoat Private Jacks.
Thomas is an active player on the Swedish jazz/improv scene ...more>>

Thomas on the soundclips:

"When I was given the opportunity to record the soundclips for the Tubewonder I made a conscious effort to demonstrate the tweakability of the amp. Although the amp can easily emulate classic tones of the major brands (Fender, Vox, Marshall), the thing that makes Tubewonder unique is it's ability to NOT emulate ANY other amp, to bring out the YOU in you! I think it is a great amp for those looking beyond the often-limited perception of what a "great guitar tone" is, and that was my main priority when I started working with the Tubewonder. Also, we are discussing making another set of soundclips demonstrating more traditional sounds, but that's another session, another story…"/TG
